What is Dog Daycare?
Dog Daycare is when your drop your dog off in the morning and pick up in the evening. Dog Daycare consists of playtime and socialization opportunities to keep your dog entertained. Daycare is for dogs who like other dogs. During daycare, your dog gets plenty of exercise (5-7 hours depending on the weather) with a break in the middle of the day to eat and nap.
At the end of the day, they come home worn out and ready to rest so you can enjoy a nice, quiet evening. The Dog Daycare experience at PUPSI is top-tier. We’re the original dog daycare facility for the Triangle and one of the first in the nation!
How Much Is Doggy Daycare?
PUPSI provides Dog Daycare at a simple one-price fits all rate. The table below lists the costs for different doggy daycare options:

*Note that all daycare days and packages are subject to availability and holiday closures. Packages auto renew when they expire unless you notify us not to renew before. Packages are non-transferable and non-refundable. Days are good for 1 year from purchase, valid for use Mon-Fri.
* No tax is added but, Pupsi does charge a 3.5% service fee per card transaction.

When Is Doggy Daycare Open?
Daycare operates Monday through Friday please check the calendar for availability, holidays/seasonal periods may be unavailable or by reservation only. Please check the calendar for status.
Drop off is between 7:30 to 9:30 AM and pick up is from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Times are subject to change to accommodate summer and winter weather.
Is Doggy Daycare Good For Dogs?
Dog daycare offers multiple benefits that make the experience well worth it, including:

What Do I Need To Do Before Bringing My Dog to Daycare?
Before you bring your dog to PUPSI, here’s a checklist of things to do to get them ready for their big adventure:
- Current clients-check the calendar for availability and book online. New Clients-do not book until you have setup your account and provided all required vaccines/preventatives, it will be denied.
- Check your dog for any signs of illness. If they aren’t feeling well, then don’t bring them to daycare.
- Check that your dog’s vaccinations and monthly preventatives are up to date. All dogs must be up to date on inoculations/preventatives to participate in daycare at PUPSI. Puppies must be done with all rounds of vaccinations to start daycare. We only accept oral flea and heartworm preventatives, no topicals, flea collars or “natural” preventatives.
- Email any new proof of vaccinations/preventatives to PUPSI. View example here. We require proof of monthly flea and heartworm preventative via invoice or picture. - Pack any food that your dog needs during the day. We do not recommend feeding your dog breakfast because it can cause them to vomit once they start running/playing. If you would like your pup to eat after the morning shift, please bring the food in a ziploc bag only, and we will feed them while they rest, Pupsi does not accept raw food.
- Walk your dog prior to bringing them to daycare. This helps keep our daycare facilities as clean as possible.
- Check your dog for fleas before arrival. If found a flea bath will be administered at an additional charge. We require proof of monthly flea and heartworm preventative. See example here. Proof of monthly flea and heartworm preventative can be faxed to 919-460-0114, or emailed to us at pupsi.inc@gmail.com.
- Inform the staff of any recent vet treatments or illnesses. Communicating this information promptly helps us keep PUPSI safe for all dogs attending.
How do I book a reservation?
Check our calendar below, it is updated and opens for reservations starting at 7:30 AM every Monday for the following week. You cannot book past the current one week window, if there is no option to book daycare then it is currently full for that period. If the day you want is available please login to your account to make reservations, we book in order received until full.

New Clients-do not book until you have confirmation that you have setup your account and provided all required vaccines/preventatives, it will be denied.
Do I need to schedule a temperament test?
You would just schedule your first day of daycare, this is when we will be evaluating and acclimating your dog into the group. Your dog will be here for the full day, drop off 730-930 AM and pick up 4-6 PM.
Does my dog have to be spayed/neutered?
Males- No. We expect intact males to abide by the same standards as all other dogs at play: as long as the dogs are behaving then they can participate. If any dogs are misbehaving, then they will get less playtime. If behavior becomes or continues to be a problem, Pupsi has discretion to refuse playtime and notify the owner.
Females- Do not need to be spayed to attend daycare but, cannot come to the facility anytime during or immediately after their heat cycle. If your female goes into heat while here, we will contact you or your emergency contact to come and pick her up. For boarding, females over 6 months must be spayed.
What vaccines and preventatives does Pupsi require? How do I send them?
All dogs must be up to date on inoculations and preventatives to attend PUPSI. Puppies must be done with ALL rounds of vaccines to start. Please remember, young pups, senior dogs and dogs that have never attended group play regularly are more susceptible to bacteria/virus as their immune systems may not be at its peak.
We require up-to-date Rabies, Distemper/Parvo or combo vaccine and Bordetella (can be 6 month or 1 year) vaccines for your dog. You can find an example here.
Proof of monthly flea and heartworm preventative is required – view example here. For flea and heartworm prevention you can show a picture of any remaining doses you have or, an invoice with proper dates and quantity. We only accept oral flea and heartworm preventatives, no topicals, flea collars or “natural” preventatives.
All dogs will be checked for fleas upon arrival. If found, a flea bath will be administered at an additional charge to the owner.

How old does my dog need to be to attend?
We do not take any pups before they are done with all boosters and required vaccinations listed. We also do not take dogs 14 years and older, instead recommend that they attend a facility with veterinary staff on site.
Do the dogs play in the rain? snow? cold? heat?
Yes. Pupsi is all outdoor play where you can expect 5-7 hours of playtime during the day, the dogs do come inside in the middle of the day to eat and nap in their own run. Every yard has a large canopy for shade and shelter but, we let the dogs dictate if they want to play or come inside anytime year round. Most still run and play in all types of weather but, if any dogs seem like they are not enjoying the weather, the staff will bring them inside to relax 🙂
Of course there are times when we alter playtimes depending on weather for safety i.e. extreme cold, summer heat, storms etc.
Summer afternoons are usually shorter playtimes as we rotate the dogs in and out to keep cool, we use pools and water to keep them cool and happy. Special attention is paid to senior dogs, black coated dogs, snow dogs and pug faced breeds.
Winter time brings lots of energy and if any of the dogs look cold we have sweaters for all sizes for them. If they still look cold then they can come back inside and relax in the warmth. Special attention is paid to short coated/hairless dogs and senior dogs.
When can I tour the facility?
You can tour Mon-Fri anytime between 930-11AM, no appointment needed, no tours during holidays, humans only 🙂
What happens in the case of inclement weather?
If there are dogs here, we will have a crew here no matter what! Since 1993 we have manned Pupsi during every snow/ice storm, hurricane season etc. We may need to alter hours but if your dog is here do not worry, he/she will be cared for daily.
If it’s your first time, please check availability on the calendar below, setup your account here, supply required vaccines and preventatives, and be sure to book a reservation. Your “interview day” happens on the first day of daycare. Daycare may be available during the weekends if you need it but it is charged at your boarding rate per day.
DOG DAYCARE CALENDAR – PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS:
- The daycare calendar is updated every Monday for the following week, days are blue (TBD) until then.
- If the day is green it is available to book a reservation, as long as your account is current with vaccines and preventatives, you should get a confirmation email and can drop off 7:30-9:30 AM and pick up 4-6 PM for that day.
- If a day is red or blue, it is not available to book.

A few things to note:
- Clients with a daycare reservation who do not show up or fail to cancel at least 24 hours prior to that day will be charged for that day.
- During summer operation and warm weather, we use pools and sprinklers to keep your dog cool. Although there is no dirt at PUPSI, your pup will be wet when they come home. If this is a concern, you may want to schedule a bath/blow dry before they go home. We do towel dry them before you pick up but they will still be damp from all the water fun!
- If you need a day that is booked, please send us a text or email the night before or the day of and we may be able to accommodate you as we do get last minute cancellations.

Disclaimer:
Please note the playground surface is astroturf. This is an NC Department of Agriculture recommended surface for daycare areas, but dogs who are not used to playing on this surface can get irritated pads, which get tougher over time. In the summer, these areas are sprayed down and cool to the touch. The groups are rotated for short periods of time depending on temperature and humidity. The more active your dog is playing on these surfaces (running, sliding, playing), the more likely they are to irritate their pads. Every dog differs in the amount that they will show (limping) signs that their feet are beginning to bother them. When we notice any signs of pad irritation, they have to come inside for treatment and their playtime will be reduced to decrease further irritation.Pads can blister, crack, cut and bleed once these injuries have started. Your dog will probably have trouble walking on the irritated feet and require some downtime and ointment/cleaning regimen. Please note that this is not commonplace but can happen and we want you to be informed beforehand.
Remember, this is a facility where dogs get to play with dogs most of the day. As dogs like to run, slide, play-bite, paw, scratch and wrestle, there comes a risk of mild injury (minor cuts, scrapes, nicks, etc.) or more serious injuries (dog bites, etc.). While this is not common, customers should be aware and prepared. Please note, owners are responsible for any vet bills incurred as the result of an injury caused by their dog. Sometimes even the most experienced staff members cannot control an altercation fast enough to prevent injury. While this is not commonplace, it can occur from time to time. Once again, the main focus at PUPSI is the care and safety of your pet. All new dogs are evaluated for aggression. If any dog is found to be aggressive or “bully” the others, that dog will be removed from play to maintain the safety of the group.
