Elden Ring: Millicent questline, Valkyrie Prosthesis, Miquella’s Needle (2024)

First, you will need to meet with Gowry. If you haven’t met him yet, you might’ve seen clips of him being killed through a wall by a rabid dog. Gowry’s Shack is in Caelid, just South of Sellia.

Gowry wants you to go and defeat Commander O’Neil, who is living at the center of the nearby swamp. Venture inside, overcome O’Neil, and you will receive the Unalloyed Gold Needle. This is the necessary item you need.

Return to Gowry at his shack, and he will give you a note containing Sellia’s Secrets. Gowry has more to say though, so rest as a Site of Grace or travel elsewhere, and then return to talk with Gowry again. He will return to Unalloyed Gold Needle to you, repaired. You now need to meet with Millicent.

Now we need to meet with Millicent. Luckily she’s not far away from Gowry, just Northeast from Gowry’s Shack, over the hill and inside the Church of the Plague. You might have an easier time reaching the church from the North, however.

Millicent is sat at the back right side of the church, slowly decaying thanks to the plague of Scarlet Rot. Using the fixed Gold Unalloyed Needle given to you by Gowry, Millicent can pierce her skin with it, in hopes of curing the rot that afflicts her.

After giving her the needle and rest, or fast travel to the Site of Grace here. Millicent will be awake and standing. Talk with her to receive the Prosthesis-Wearer Heirloom.

Now return to Gowry’s Shack. You’ll find Millicent alone, wondering why the place feels so familiar.

Rest again and Gowry will be here alone instead. He thanks you for helping, so Millicent can continue her journey. You can talk with him about her further.

Next you can find Millicent on her journey North of the Lux Ruins in the Altus Plateau, overlooking a cliff with Leyndell in the distance. She’ll speak about her missing arm, and how she wishes she still had it. Time to help her out.

We’ll need to travel to the Shaded Castle, if you haven’t done so already. This is pretty much directly North of where you meet Millicent in Altus Plateau. The Shaded Castle is a pretty big dungeon in its own right, but you’ll be able to recover the Valkyrie’s Prosthesis from a chest in a tower here, guarded by a valkyrie. Return to Millicent and give it to her.

Right, now it’s time to head to Dominula, the Windmill Village, also in the Altus Plateau, in the Northeast corner. Millicent will appear here after you defeat the Godskin Noble at the top of the village, next to the Site of Grace.

Millicent will now appear in two more places. First is the Ancient Snow Valley Ruins Site of Grace hidden in a canyon in the Mountaintops of the Giants. This is South of the large castle. She’ll offer to be called upon in battle.

You’ll next have to speak with her in the Haligtree, an area you can only reach with the Haligtree medallions we locate in this guide. She’s next to the Prayer Room Site of Grace.

In Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree, find the Drainage Channel Site of Grace. Walk out of the West exit here, climb the ladder, and return to the area with several pools of rot. Cross the perilous tree trunk over to the distant pool, and on the right side, on the trunk of the tree, you’ll find two summon signs. A gold summon sign will allow you to assist Millicent, while a red summon sign will ask you to hunt her.

Fighting Millicent using the red summon sign will reward you with Millicent’s Prosthesis talisman, which boosts your DEX and increase attack power as long as you keep attacking. Very handy indeed. Just reload the area and you’ll find her near the summon signs.

If you save Millicent from her sisters, you will instead receive the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia. This talisman offers the same attack buff as Millicent’s Prosthesis, but without the DEX boost. Lame.

Finally, it’s time to get back the Unalloyed Gold Needle, which has been pierced through the flesh of someone with Malenia‘s blood. This makes it incredibly special, though that might not be obvious in this moment. The needle will be where you spoke to Millicent after saving her.

At this point you can return to Gowry at Gowry’s Shack for some dialogue which adds context to Millicent’s backstory.

Now you just need to turn the Unalloyed Gold Needle into Miquella’s Needle to truly finish Millicent’s questline, but you’ll need to defeat Malenia, Goddess of Rot. Once defeated, return to the boss room to find a large flower blooming from Malenia’s body. Approach it and return the Unalloyed Gold Needle. This will reward you with Miquella’s Needle, and a Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone just as a bonus.
