Robert B. Fischer Obituary - 2022 (2024)

Robert Blake Fischer, 54 of Kent, OH, passed away Sunday, January 02, 2022. Rob is survived by his wife Jennifer Fischer, his three, beautiful daughters Kayla, Kassidy, and Mallory. His mother Judith Ann, sisters Nicole J. Voinovich (Vic Jr. and their two children, Victor III and Kael), Heather Michelle (Ron Schreckengost Jr.). Rob was preceded in death by his father, Charles Blake Fischer and his brother, Matthew Paul Fischer.

Rob grew up in Aurora and was a graduate of Aurora High School in 1985 where he was an all-star basketball player. He obtained a bachelor’s degree from The University of Akron in business administration. Rob worked for the Kent City School District where he loved making a positive impact on the lives of the children he interacted with and was an active member of Riverwood Chapel. Rob was an avid sports fan, loving everything Cleveland, and his favorite college football team, THE Ohio State Buckeyes. He was by far happiest cheering on his favorite athletes, his daughters, all three talented soccer and basketball players. He never missed a game, especially in the early years when he was their coach. In fact, they attribute their love of sports and their talent for the sports they play to their Dad. Their #1 fan.

Rob will be lovingly remembered by his family for lots of corny “dad jokes”, watching movies but always falling asleep, wearing shorts outside well into the winter season, his love of running, skiing, riding the four-wheeler with his girls and their neighborhood friends, eating lots of pizza, doing random pushups in the kitchen, playing games and having family game nights. Rob was a friend to all, a helpful neighbor, and will be greatly missed.

Memorial donations may be made to Riverwood Chapel or The Rob Fischer Kent Youth Basketball and Soccer Memorial.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Riverwood Chapel, 1407 Fairchild Ave., Kent, OH 44240 from 2:00PM-5:00PM on Thursday, January 6, 2022. Funeral services will immediately follow at 5:00PM on Thursday at the church.
