The Hyatt Regency Savannah is a luxurious hotel located in the heart of the historic district of Savannah, Georgia. The spacious rooms come with comfortable beds and tasteful decor, and some offer stunning views of the river Thames or the city. The on-site restaurant, coffee shop, fitness center, and spa are all worth exploring.
The Hyatt always takes great care of us and this location was no exception! Absolutely stunning views of the bridge and river. The balconies aren’t quite deep enough to sit out on, but the weather was cool so we sat just inside the open slider and thoroughly enjoyed watching the cargo ships, tugboats and ferries. Lots of birds too - cormorants, gulls, grackles and even a bald eagle! And dolphins every night at sunset - I had no idea they came so far inland! The front desk staff were welcoming and so helpful. The valet employees were exceptional, always so quick and kind and we loved being able to pick our car up on the parking level and not deal with the busy traffic out front. The women at the Express restaurant were lovely as well. All around a fantastic trip! We felt very safe here and loved how clean everything was. If we weren’t still in this darn pandemic, I would’ve spent more time in the lobby and bar as they had great views too. The only thing we were missing was a microwave, but we didn’t really need one with all the options they had available. Thank you, Hyatt Regency Savannah!

We utilized this property for a work retreat, and over 4 days we saw the staff in action. Housekeeping was excellent, with the only less than excellent item being that they didn't vacuum my room each day. Front desk staff at reception was attentive. Lobby was spacious and beautifully decorated. We also used a meeting room that was staffed by food service workers and hotel management, and this was an interesting situation because the first day we were there they took excellent care of us. The second and third days of meetings, our service was noticeably dropping off. Staff on the first day were well aware of our dietary restrictions in the group and were very detailed to make sure everything was correct. Not so in following days. The last day they basically disappeared after lunch, zero dessert options or drink refills, and we did not see hotel staff again until the end of the day. However, food was good and our drink station was properly maintained most of the time. Views from the meeting room were beautiful, overlooking the river.Overall this was a good experience and I would stay at another Hyatt for business travel.

This hotel was more than what we expected during our first visit to Savannah! We were first greeted by Nick in valet who was outstanding. He recognized us coming in and going out every time. The front desk receptionist was friendly and provided us with all kinds of comps to make sure my birthday was memorable. The entire staff was professional and friendly. The hotel views was A+! You can catch the skyline from every part of the hotel. The garden terrace is a must for the sunset views. The rooftop was a great escape from the crowd that overlook the city. I would have liked the pool to be outdoors so I never visited it. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to visit as it is in the heart of everything.

Honestly, the location is great but not worth your money. The hotel was overbooked for our stay (understandable, it happens), so when the waitress at out comped breakfast found out it was paid for, her mood did a full 180 and was short and had an attitude. She overall was INCREDIBLY slow in helping us throughout the breakfast and got even worse after she found out. For the money I am paying to stay at this hotel I expected so much better service than that. When requesting our vehicle from valet (which you had to do through an app), it took 45 min before receiving a notification that the system was down - and then overall took more than an hour to get our car out of the garage. This would maybe be understandable if the parking was free, but again unacceptable for paying $40 for valet, and then adding on tips? Absolutely not. The indoor pool was ice cool and there was no furniture on the terrace, so you couldn't enjoy it (and our stay wasn't during covid). Lastly, someone had charged a $250 lunch to our room, thankfully I caught because I had asked for a receipt of our bill since the total charge was not adding up. I would love to know how this happened. Unfortunately, I have many grievances - It's almost comical how many... just spend your money elsewhere.

The location is superb! Location right on the river street and you just have to walk the stairs down. The rooms are big with nice view. The service is top notch and as for parking, If you do not want the valet parking, you can just park on the street using the Savannah parking meter. The breakfast was good and the roof top bar/restaurant is also amazing!!!

My room with king size bed was not available when I arrived. The hotel wanted to give me double queen beds. That would not work for me, but they quickly found another room for me, which was a little bit of an upgrade. I love the areas for lounging very nice, you could find such a beautiful spot with ease. The view of the river was great. The restaurant located in the hotel food was ok. The mattress was very hard for me. The hotel is in a great location and surrounded by restaurants and shops.

Location, Location, Location:This hotel truly shines in terms of convenience. Situated right on the Riverwalk, it offers easy access to all the sights and sounds of Savannah's waterfront. Plus, most popular destinations are within a 5-10 minute walk, making exploring a breeze. The hotel even offers concierge services and discounts for activities, which can be a big help when planning your itinerary.Great Staff and Amenities:The staff at the Hyatt Regency Savannah were fantastic – friendly, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile. The hotel also boasts amenities like concierge services, which can be a big plus for travelers.Parking Pain Point:The one drawback to consider is the lack of free parking. Valet parking is the only option, and it comes with a hefty price tag of $25-30 per day. If you're on a budget, be sure to factor this cost into your decision. There's a public parking garage nearby that might be a more affordable alternative, but it's worth checking rates beforehand.Overall:Despite the parking cost, the Hyatt Regency Savannah offers a great stay for those who prioritize location and service. If you're looking for a comfortable and convenient base to explore Savannah's charm, this hotel is a strong contender. Just remember to budget for valet parking, or consider alternative parking options.

This hotel is an excellent value in the historic district at a prime location. A beautiful modern hotel on the river with views of river traffic. It’s downstream from the busy container ship port-not scenic but interesting. Summer rates will soar with good reason so visit in the winter and enjoy the spring like temperatures- much better than the heat later in the year. Only downside is the cost to park-valet- but considering the service intensity it’s not unreasonable at $38 daily. I paid one night when I arrive very late and changed parking to the city garage a short distance across Bay St on Whittaker-$16 daily. Easy to use. I plan to return in a few years and may try one of the historic B&B’s as a contrast. The historic district of Savannah is one of the best destinations in the country- beauty, charm, historical interest and tons to do. This hotel is perfect for a first visit.

We only stayed for one night but it was a great experience. The outdoor patio, indoor seating with a view of the river, and the view from our room were perfect! All hotel staff were very friendly, everything was very nice and clean. The location was fantastic! So nice to just be able to take the elevator in the hotel down to the river walk.My only complaint would be the pillows were very uncomfortable and parking was a pain. I would say bring your own pillows and make sure you ask about where to park in advance if you don’t plan on doing valet.Overall a great experience.

I confirmed our room with a king sized bed as soon as I received the email and got a confirmation of my confirmation. When we arrived, we were informed that there were no king sized bed rooms available and we were being switched to a room with 2 double beds. We were offered to accept the double bed, and switch to a different room that had a king sized bed the following day, and that they would waive the $40/day valet charge. I obviously declined that and the gentleman had to get another representative to come look for other options. The lady that assisted us was very friendly and was able to get us into another room with a king sized bed. When we inquired about where to park after unloading, we were told that there is no self parking, but we could pay $40/day to valet. When we got upstairs and in our room finally, I walked into the bathroom and found hair in the shower as well as on the bathroom floor. I'm not talking about one or two hairs that got missed during cleaning either. Now for the positives:The location is convenient. The elevator to river street is located right outside of the building. The guys that operate the valet were very friendly. The employees working the front desk were very friendly and offered spots to visit while in town.

This is definitely the place to stay if you are visiting Savannah. The valet that welcomed us, Nick, was so nice and took the extra few minutes to give us some recommendations. The rest of the valet staff was awesome as well—they always had our car ready when we asked, and everyone was very friendly. Shaquira at the front desk was also a gem, and made checking in a breeze. The hotel lobby was gorgeous and very clean, and the room had everything we needed. The city view ended up being great, since we had a corner room and could see both the river and the city! Housekeeping was probably the best I’ve ever seen—we couldn’t believe that our room looked brand new after being cleaned. Totally spotless, fresh towels and bedding. The location of the hotel is perfect, too! So convenient for stopping and dropping things off, or taking a break between activities. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else!!

We were very happy to have stayed at the Hyatt. We arrived later in the evening and Christian happily checked us in and even mentioned that he personally assigned our room and it was one of his favorites. We were absolutely blown away by the location on the corner overlooking River Street and the River itself. The bed and furniture was very comfortable and well updated with a large room. There were some maintenance things here and there, but nothing at all major or that impacted our stay. Housekeeping came every day to make the bed and bring fresh towels and the staff we encountered were always very friendly. The lobby was absolutely incredible and had comfortable furniture throughout, with a nice seating lounge on the river. The location was hard to beat since we could walk to most of the major areas in about 5 minutes and we were on river street. We were also impressed that the amenity fee actually included 2 free drinks at the bar each day, nice to actually get something for that fee. We will definitely stay again when we return to Savannah.

We booked a room online and arrived immediately after. We were greeted upon arrival by a valet driver and was informed where to park if we did not want Valet parking. (Which we did not, because we are on the go too much for that) Check-in was a breeze and everyone was friendly and accommodating. Once we got to our room we looked things over and even though the bathroom wasn’t the cleanest, we were not going to complain. Unfortunately it couldn’t be avoided, we had to request towels and toilet paper almost immediately (there are four guest in our room and only two towels and one wash cloth.) Someone brought towels and they had black stripes and stains on them and still no wash cloths. We called the desk again and housekeeping manager was notified. He was extremely apologetic and offered to clean the bathroom himself, brought fresh towels and wash cloths and added a few other perks. I thought everything was great until, I turned down the bed and that’s when I noticed what appeared to be candy stuck between the sheets. We call the front desk again and they are quick to bring fresh linens, then I noticed we had no blanket. So, once again we call the front desk: At this point we are starting to get on our own nerves because we have called the front desk so many times. Not one time were any of the staff rude towards us nor did they make us feel uncomfortable. I would definitely stay here again. Great location, awesome staff (eager to please) and friendly atmosphere. I have stayed in cleaner, only never with nicer people. Southern hospitality at it’s finest 🙂 (two more days left of our stay, then on to the next adventure)

While the Hyatt Regency Savannah boasts an unbeatable location, its exterior leaves much to be desired, presenting an eyesore that doesn't do justice to the charming River Front. Inside, the hotel shows signs of weariness, suggesting a need for rejuvenation to bring back its sparkle. The rooms, although satisfactory, would greatly benefit from some tender loving care to elevate the guest experience. Given the price point, one might expect more from this establishment, especially when considering the array of superior alternatives available along the River Front. This review may come across as harsh, but it's meant to offer an honest assessment based on my experience.

Great hotel. Friendly staff. Very clean. The rooms were quiet, (except when the guy decided to play his trumpet on the riverwalk. You could hear it on the six floor, but running the fan helped to drown him out.) We paid for a river view, and it was worth every penny! Moon River was inspired here! Would definitely recommend. (View from our hotel room.)

We only stayed for one night. All employees from the check-in valet, to the front desk, to the check-out valet seemed very dependable and helpful. Hotel common areas and room were clean and met our expectations for a comfortable stay. My only regret is that we forgot our own pillows. Firm pillow users be warned! Bring your own! The hotel pillows, though soft, do not offer much for sleeping support. This is a personal preference and has no effect on my rating. Also, at no fault of the hotel, there is a ton of construction going on across the river so if you’re looking for a beautiful and romantic view of the river, you’re not going to get exactly that. BUT you do have an unobstructed view of the river. The background is just not very pretty :). Again, at no fault of the hotel so it does not affect my rating.

It’s just awful. We stayed for one night and that was too much. We ordered a king bed and they didn’t have and offered us two full beds. We were understanding so we took it. They gave us one with a view to the river so we thought it was worth it. Then we saw the bathroom and it was very small and uncomfortable and on top of that the tub didn’t drain properly and we had to wait in between showers so it wouldn’t flood. After that my husband decided to check his account and they overcharged us for parking not once but three times for parking. The lighting in the room was not great as well. We were awoken by a loud band in the night. And next morning at 9:00 we called front desk for a cart for our bags for 9:30, we called at 9:32 to see if they were coming soon and the lady laughed at us and said that we had to give them time because we called about 3 minutes ago and that it would take 15 to 20 minutes. We grabbed our own bags and checked ourselves out. We went to the parking elevator and waited for about 5 minutes because the other one was broken. Another couple came after us with a bellhop and when we came down to pick our car the employee actually attended first the couple with the bellhop. We wanted to get out as soon as possible. When we got our car the passenger window was open, our front windshield was dirty and the conductor and back passenger window were also dirty, the car smelled strange. I’m not sure about the passenger window the person who brought it could have just rolled it down at that moment, it’s the most likely possibility I don’t know. Still an overall bad experience. The only star I give is for the view. Thanks for the reply, we requested that same day the refund of the overcharged valet and we are hopeful that our money will be returned. Nevertheless I have been verifying other reviews from this hotel and this is a quite common practice among this hotel. Seems that we are not the only ones with this inconvenience. But that was only one of the many inconvenience that we have had. Please treat your customers with the respect that they deserve, this is not directed towards a particular employee but to the Hyatt Regency Savannah Hotel and it’s system.

Rooms are great but a little cold. The location is awesome. Food was good in restaurant. Fast and frequent elevators. Great common space and bar. House cleaning service is very slow. We went out at 10:00a for a tour and came back at 4:00p to rest. Housekeeping came at 6:00p a bit too late for me.

My stay was incredible. Service staff was hit and miss but that’s basically everywhere. Rooms are well appointed. The river view is stunning and exciting! Housekeeping stole or misplaced some of my items when cleaning, food was mediocre but don’t skip the ice cream cookie sandwiches in the pantry because they make everything better! All in all a great stay though and I will come back and do highly advise you stay here too!

The beautiful bar and restaurant overlooking the river are gone...now you're relegated to a smaller area that overlooks just one side of River St if you sit outside. It's still a nice enough place but not what it once was. Now, it feels like a business center rather than a vacation spot. So it's great for work trips, I suppose, just not so much family trips anymore.

To be honest this was only good for the location. I had my car in valet parking and in the morning there was no one was there to get my car. I basically had to self serve myself with the unmanned box that had everyone in the hotels keys in it ( very easily could’ve stole any car from the parking lot even if I was walking on the street, because that’s where the key box is. Outside attached to a column in front of the hotel.) and i payed the hotel almost 50 (48) dollars for this valet experience. On top of that I asked for a receipt and the front desk said she couldn’t do that. Which makes zero sense. But if my car keys along with all the other hotel guests car keys not been unsupervised on the curb outside I wouldn’t have been so upset. Especially when I payed for valet meaning someone needs to get my car for me. Not me try to figure out where my car is, etc.

Highly disappointed. For nearly $500 for two nights in the middle of the week, I was expecting a nice hotel but it is not great at all. The bathroom was dirty with pink and black mold when we checked in, and the shower is TINY...barely big enough for a petite person in the shower as it's roughly a 3x3 area. Since the shower curtain is several inches off the ground all the water from the shower spills into the bathroom. The sink faucet is leaking all over the counter. The carpet in the room was put in haphazardly so it's rolled and uneven and doesn't even meet up to the walls and there's a gross gap of dirt and dust between the carpet and wall. The "king bed" is actually more like a queen. There is no onsite parking unless you're paying $48/night valet. We took the elevator down to River Street and the elevator floor is carpet DUCT TAPED TOGETHER. Seriously?? Also the front desk has been taking notes on paper without verification, so it's very easy for someone to just say that they're in a room they're not and charge things elsewhere.Overall, save your money and stay somewhere actually nice.

Not a frequent Hyatt customer but this Regency was a real treat to stay at. Incredible location - close to so many areas of interest and great restaurants and shops. Also a short drive away from some other historical sites and experiences. The hotel itself is beautiful with a large lobby that is inviting and a great congregation space. The bar and restaurant was always lively and the views of the river are fantastic. The rooms themselves were spacious and clean and the beds were ridiculously comfortable. Very modern design and decor that helps create a different world within the hotel. Staff was helpful but busy at times, but the amenities are great and we even received free drinks from the bar daily. The entire hotel was very accommodating in terms of wheelchair accessibility and maneuverability considering the size and many entry and exit points, all of which were wide enough and utilized ADA door openers ♿ . If visiting in summer, just plan for very hot days. Would definitely consider this one again.

Hyatt is always my go to. But I was left a little disappointed. A suite is not a suite it’s just a normal room. Had a guest of honor booking and was expecting something else. Its location is amazing but was expecting more from the rooms. Otherwise the hotel is gorgeous and so clean and spacious. Too bad for the small pool. One thing I’ll say is how do day-to-day people afford anything at this hotel unless they get perks from points from somewhere else? 85$ for breakfast for 3 people. Cmon.

The lobby and all common areas are very very nice when you get two the rooms you are at the lowest rated hotel. When you pay top dollar for a place to stay and you are charged 48 dollars per day for parking and resort fees I expect top of the line accommodations the keirug had white flakey stuff in the water canister the shower curtain ripped the mirror in the bathroom was flaking the makeup mirror had TONS of dust on it the lamp shade had holes in it THANK GOD I brought house shoes the carpet was absolutely disgusting everywhere you turn people had their hand out for tips would not recommend this hotel stay at a motel 6 would add photos but it won't let me.

We liked the hotel, attempted to come back to the hotel after sightseeing and have a couple of co*cktails. The bartender appeared to be overworked and never acknowledged either myself or another customer waiting. Her fingernails were extra long and appeared unsanitary. We went across the street instead. Was hoping to enjoy the view outside & enjoy drinks at the Hyatt since we were starting there.

We stayed here for a weekend to celebrate my wife's birthday. Everyone that we met was extremely knowledgeable and provided only the best service to us. Overall we had a positive experience, but there are some noteworthy details below.1.) The hotel's location is right on River Street. There is an elevator inside the hotel that takes you directly to River Street.2.) Valet service is $48 a day, not including tips. It sounds expensive but is well worth it. There is virtually no parking around this area, and if you don't want to walk 2 blocks to a parking garage, this is your best option. We had a very pleasant experience with the valet staff during our stay.3.) All photos attached to this review are either taken from our hotel room, the fourth-floor terrace, or the hotel lobby. We loved the views of the Savannah River and the overall vibe.

Great location, beautiful room, outstanding employees. With the Hyatt program I have the base Discoverist level but they treated me like I was a top customer. Received upgraded room and late check-out. Valet was great - lots of employees and a supervisor. Happy hour was $5 large drafts, great beer. Breakfast buffet - great omelet station, employees, food selection (around $30 pp so not cheap but standard for hotel buffets). Would definitely stay here again.

Location was great. In the heart of everything. We didn't have a preplanned reservation, but they were able to accommodate us, with a room with a balcony overlooking the river. Enjoyed an evening out there watching the people walk by below and see the big cargo carrying barges go by. Had oysters at Sorry Charlie's, dinner at Grimaldi's, recommended by one of the locals. Welcome co*cktail on checking at 2 pm and a co*cktail on the house at the Moss & Oak bar between 4 and 5. Great trip.

BEWARE OF BOOKING STAY WITH CREDIT CARD POINTS. Booked a stay in this hotel room using points from my credit card. Paid in full using points before check in. During the check in process I was told my card would be charged a temporary charge for 75 dollars which would be refunded. The hotel charged my card for the whole night stay 344 dollars. I have yet to be refunded. I have contacted customer service and they told me that they can not figure out why I was charged.Edit 4/10/24 Finally was able to receive a partial refund of 315 dollars. I had to reach out to Hyatt via Twitter to finally get someone to address this after being told it was being handled by a Hyatt representative on the phone. There is no explanation as to why I was given a partial refund. No one reached out to apologize. Will not be patronizing this hotel chain in the future.

Great location in Savannah as it's right on the river. There is even an elevator that takes you from the Lobby to the river street... it's like a secret entrance. The rooms were not big, but they were comfortable and more importantly clean. Parking is expensive, but that is par for the course in Savannah. Check-in was easy, and there is a nice pantry for snacks and necessities. There was a beer and wine thing in the early evening, but we weren't around to take advantage of it

If I were rating the hotel on the physical attributes alone, I’d give the hotel 5 stars. It’s the best location on river street, the hotel is beautiful, the rooms are lovely, and it’s great value for money. If I include the service, I wish I could rate it higher. Jigar and the entire front desk team were so incredible. The service at the hotel is top notch. I can’t recommend it enough. There is a welcome co*cktail, free drinks at 4, and other nice touches as a part of the destination fee.I saw a lot of reviews commenting on the parking situation. The valet parking is efficient, it’s not much more than parking garages, and so much more convenient. Once you’re downtown, most things in Savannah are within a short walk!

Man, where do I start?! I took a mini vacation and chose this hotel. It's one of the BEST CHOICES I've made!!! From the time I walked into the place, I was taken away by the beauty of its scenery and by the employees' EXCELLENT personalities!! The workers from the valet, front desk, concierge, and the restaurant! For my whole time there not one worker showed any negative attitude or act as if they didn't want to be at work!! They were all helpful, courteous, and joyful! The food was great and so were the drinks. The location of the hotel, of course, is perfect. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy, and the bathroom was clean also. Every day, you get 2 complimentary bottle waters in your room. The only bad thing was that the valet is like $48-49 per night🤭. There are other options to park elsewhere, but u have to walk to the hotel. I LOVE this place and intend on visiting again🥰🤗🤗

Stayed for business. I was offered an "upgraded room" at check in and that was a joke. Wish I'd never accepted. The room left much to be desired. I would have preferred sleeping in the lobby/ lounge and using that bathroom as it seemed more on par with what I expected."Upgraded Room": the room appeared clean but upon closer inspection I found dust, hair, and questionable substances. Sheets did appear to be changed. Room was showing signs of mod wear and tear (torn carpet, mild mildew in bathroom, etc). Bed was lumpy for me, but comfortable.Bathroom: Beware, the bathroom in the river front view I was given was TINY. I mean if you don't put the toilet cover down when you flush, you WILL get particles on your sink, toothbrush, and towel bar in the shower. You can't get in the shower without closing the door. It's super tight.Service: everyone was courteous and helpful. It would have been nice to get a quick intro to amenities/ breakfast at the hotel without prompting.Overall, not the worst by far and like everyone has said the location is superb. You can walk to a plethora of food establishments in less than half a mile. That might be the reason you stay.
